Provide radiologists with images necessary for diagnostic results, ensuring a comprehensive report for referring physicians. Orient physicians, residents, staff, and student technologists on the objectives and applications of magnetic resonance imaging and safety. Assist nursing staff in the area, including witnessing the wasting of medication and documentation as required. Requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school program. Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathologic processes is required, with an emphasis on neurologic, orthopedic, and cardiac physiology. Thorough understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques necessary for the position. Knowledge of the physics involved in performing magnetic resonance imaging exams and the use of all equipment necessary to obtain and document a complete examination is essential. Effective communication skills are required to interact with patients, physicians, and other personnel. High levels of analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary to perform appropriate scans based on patient history and protocol. Interpersonal skills are crucial for instructing and orienting patients, physicians, medical staff, and students. Prefer experience in a magnetic resonance training program with clinical internship or one year of clinical imaging experience.
