Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and skilled care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in acute medical services. This role involves delivering direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical competence, and adhering to professional ethical standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a safe care environment. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education within the scope of practical nursing practice. Conduct ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making. Collaborate closely with supervising RNs or shift managers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with healthcare standards. Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to improve patient outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to support positive health outcomes. Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to enhance skills. Education Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required. Experience One year of practical nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Requirements Current LPN license valid in the state or compact licensure. Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Mental and Physical Demands This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
