Security Worker - Anticipated JobID: 1397 Position Type:Security/ Security Worker Date Posted:11/18/2025 Location:Security    Hours Per Day: 8.00 (10:30pm - 7:00am)Work Year: 12 Months Minimum Pay Rate: $18.00/Hour (Effective 12/17/25 rate is $20.50.)Classification: Competitive Please note: This title is a Civil Service competitive position. Those individuals classified as Security Guard OR reachable on the current Civil Service Security Guard list OR otherwise qualified by the rules of the Monroe County Civil Service Commission will be considered. If a provisional appointment is made, that means that you will be required to take the next Civil Service examination for this title, and be reachable (according to score) on the examination list in order to be eligible for permanent appointment. The Civil Service qualifications for SECURITY WORKER are as follows: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Experience as a security guard or security office may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Special Requirements: Current registration as a Security Guard with the New York State Department of State. Depending upon assignment, a physical examination may be required. If you are appointed, you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job. Job Duties: Conduct periodic foot patrols around all buildings, checking windows and doors, to make sure they are closed and locked. Conduct patrols of school grounds and transportation. Enforce any Board Policies such as smoking, parking, trespassing, theft, vandalism property damage, alcohol, drug usage, and other school rules and regulations. Check all boilers, coolers, and freezers on campus. Watch for any unusual conditions. Periodic checks of all AED devices on campus. Assist any emergency vehicle as they enter our campus. Report any issues to Security Director or any other Administrator. Knowledge of fire alarm systems. Complete a security log sheet for each shift and an incident report when needed. Any other duties Directed by the Director of Security or Administrator.FLSA: Non-Exempt
