Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing compassionate, direct patient care. This role involves applying the nursing process with clinical expertise tailored to acute medical services, while upholding the highest ethical standards. Key Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment. Deliver quality nursing care through medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education. Operate within the Practical Nurse Scope of Practice and organizational policies to support optimal patient outcomes and safety. Conduct ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and provide accurate updates to the healthcare team. Collaborate closely with supervising RNs or shift managers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Document all care activities and quality measures to support clinical decisions and compliance. Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to support health goals. Apply critical thinking and pursue continuing education to enhance nursing skills. Education Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required. Experience At least one year of practical nursing experience is preferred. Licenses and Certifications Current LPN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure. Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Physical and Mental Requirements This position demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
