Position Title: Public Health Administrator 1 Location: Nashville, TN 37243 Estimated Duration: 09/15/2025 - 06/30/2026 Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Public Health Administrator 1 is responsible for performing moderately complex administrative and regulatory duties in support of licensure and certification processes for a regulatory board. This role ensures compliance with statutes, rules, and policies related to licensing, permitting, and certification. Key Responsibilities: Licensing & Certification Oversight: Review licensure, permits, and certification applications for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility. Make recommendations for application acceptance or rejection per regulatory guidelines. Evaluate and process requests for reciprocity and renewals. Regulatory Administration: Issue licenses, certificates, and registrations as authorized. Ensure timely and accurate implementation of mandates and licensing requirements. Coordinate and prepare reports for regulatory boards. Customer & Stakeholder Communication: Respond to inquiries from applicants, the public, and stakeholders regarding licensing policies and procedures. Provide licensing data to external agencies and professional organizations. Notify applicants of examination outcomes. Data Entry & Records Management: Enter and update applicant/licensee data into internal systems. Maintain payment records, including refunds and returned checks. Match payments to licensee records and process necessary adjustments. Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule board meetings and examinations. Ensure applicants are properly notified of exam/interview dates and locations. Assist in the preparation and setup of examination sites. Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor examination processes and applicant compliance during tests. May review ongoing investigations or case statuses related to licensure violations. Prepare expenditure and activity reports and escalate critical issues as needed. Internal Communication: Collaborate with supervisors and peers to resolve discrepancies or complex licensing cases. Report status updates and issues to supervisors or attorneys. Required Competencies: Strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with data entry and document management systems. Ability to coordinate schedules and manage sensitive information. Comfortable handling complaints and inquiries from applicants and stakeholders.
