Clean & Paint Technician / Maintenance Assistant

Job Full Description Job Title: Clean & Paint Technician / Maintenance Assistant Pay: $16.75/hour Schedule: Monday-Thursday (Full-Time) Position Summary This position supports production operations by preparing and painting iron components and assisting with basic preventative maintenance on industrial equipment. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, can follow instructions carefully, and is comfortable working in an industrial environment. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required Mechanical aptitude preferred Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is a plus Key Responsibilities Cleaning & Painting Duties: Clean iron castings using approved solvents, degreasers, grinders, or wire brushes Remove rust, scale, slag, and debris Prepare surfaces for coating Apply industrial coatings using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes Inspect finished parts for proper coverage and quality Maintain painting tools and equipment Follow all safety guidelines related to ventilation, PPE, and materials Maintenance Assistant Duties: Check and refill oil levels in machinery Check and refill coolant/water levels (using tools such as a refractometer) Replace air, oil, and fluid filters as scheduled Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, or visible damage Maintain accurate maintenance logs Report mechanical concerns to supervisor Skills & Qualifications Basic knowledge of surface preparation techniques Ability to identify rust, corrosion, and surface defects Basic understanding of lubrication systems and fluid types Comfortable using basic hand tools Ability to read gauges, labels, and checklists Strong attention to detail Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per shift Ability to wear required PPE, including face protection, for extended periods Comfortable working in an industrial environment Amarillo, TX 1982 6605 I-40 West Amarillo, TX 79106
