What You Will Contribute: If you're a Product Development or Product Regulatory engineer who loves solving complex problems, shaping product strategy, and ensuring innovative technologies meet global regulatory standards, this role puts you at the center of it all. As a Senior Engineer in Product Regulatory Compliance, you'll own compliance strategy for key product lines, influence design decisions, and guide teams through the evolving landscape of global regulations. You'll be the technical authority who ensures our Utility, Flow, and Water Quality products meet the highest standards-while also helping shape the next generation of Badger Meter solutions. What You'll Do Lead Compliance Strategy & Execution Own initial and ongoing product certifications for assigned product lines. Drive sustaining engineering activities to maintain compliance across the product lifecycle. Serve as the regulatory lead during agency audits at assigned facilities. Shape Product Direction Evaluate upcoming regulatory and environmental changes; recommend strategic actions to keep products compliant and competitive. Represent Badger Meter in agency discussions, influencing future regulations. Partner with Product Marketing to define the most efficient regulatory path for new and existing products. Be the Expert Others Rely On Lead Product Regulatory Compliance efforts within NPD and other major projects. Collaborate with corporate legal on the impact of regulatory changes. Drive Certification & Documentation Excellence Define project scope, schedules, and budgets for certification activities. Obtain global agency quotations and prepare purchase requests. Draft and publish product self-declarations. Develop Wetted Part Lists (WPLs) with Lead Engineers. Coordinate test sample transfers and ensure the latest test reports and certifications are published. Support Operations & Continuous Improvement Represent the business during surveillance audits and drive closure of any non-conformances. Support engineering and operations teams on product and process performance. Champion engineering change processes and ensure company procedures are followed. What You Bring Experience & Credentials 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in Product Development, Product Regulatory or related field. Technical & Leadership Strengths Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to independently define resources, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies. Proven ability to drive projects to completion with sound judgment and decision-making. Experience generating business/financial justifications. Effective communicator who can influence cross-functional teams.
