Job Details Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia (ZIP 25401) Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative Nurse / Surgical Nurse Setting: Acute Care, Main Operating Room (14 operating suites) Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse, 13-week assignment) Duration: 13 weeks (March 3, 2026 – June 2, 2026) Shift: 8-hour Evenings, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Shifts per Week: 5 shifts per week Hours: 40 hours per week (guaranteed) Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,400–$2,520 per week Call: Weekend and holiday call rotation as needed; one weeknight on-call (7p–7a) and one weekend day on-call (7a–7p) per month Charting / EMR: EPIC EMR (experience preferred) Orientation: 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation Uniform: Scrubs provided Required Qualifications Active RN license (state-specific licensure; candidate willing to wait for licensure if needed) BLS (AHA) required ACLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2–3 years recent Operating Room (OR RN) experience At least 2–3 previous travel nurse assignments preferred Ortho and neuro surgical experience preferred (neuro spine, total joints, open fractures) Ability to respond within 20 minutes when on call (accommodations provided if needed) Candidate must live more than 50 miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility) Key Responsibilities Serve as circulating and assisting Operating Room Registered Nurse in a variety of surgical procedures (excluding open heart); frequent neuro spine, total joints, open fracture, ENT, and general surgery cases Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes Maintain sterile technique, support room turnover, and ensure OR readiness for scheduled cases Document patient care and perioperative data accurately in EPIC EMR Participate in call rotation and respond promptly when required Provide patient- and family-centered communication pre- and post-operatively Adhere to hospital policies, surgical safety checklists, and infection control standards Why Join Our Surgical Team?
