We are looking for hands-on engineers with a strong background in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and Block Storage design to help us innovate cloud storage and assist global enterprises with their digital transformation. Responsibilities As a Senior Technical Staff Member, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end software design and development of critical components for Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on highly available Block Storage services. Your primary focus will be on creating scalable solutions for mission-critical cloud workloads, involving sophisticated AI and machine learning applications. You should be a proficient coder and a versatile engineer with practical experience in developing large-scale distributed systems that can elastically scale. Comfort in navigating through various parts of the stack and low-level systems, along with an ability to design expansive distributed system interactions, is essential. Minimum Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in delivering and operating highly available distributed systems, specifically focusing on block storage solutions for demanding cloud workloads, including AI and machine learning applications. Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Java, along with experience in scripting languages such as Python. Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems principles. Familiarity with NVMe, NVMe over Fabrics, SPDK, storage virtualization, and iSCSI is highly desirable, especially in optimizing block storage for high-performance AI/ML workloads. Working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures. Strong grasp of block storage systems, NoSQL technologies, and distributed persistence solutions, concentrating on scalability and reliability for modern enterprise and AI/ML applications. Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities in distributed environments. Experience in developing multi-tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure with modern C++ is a significant advantage, particularly for applications serving high-throughput AI and machine learning tasks. The salary range in the US is between $79,200 and $178,100 per annum, with potential eligibility for bonuses and equity.
