Clinical Research Tissue Coordinator

Overview This position is fully on-site in Memphis, TN! Job Summary: The tissue procurement coordinator works under general supervision and is responsible for the coordination of biospecimen (tissue, blood, urine samples) acquisition from oncology research subjects in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, federal, and sponsor regulations and guidelines, BMHCC and BCRI policies and procedures. The tissue procurement coordinator will be responsible for the collection, processing and shipping of biospecimen according to research protocol specifications. Critical to this function is effective communication with research coordinators and developing key relationships with various departments and surgeons. The tissue procurement coordinator will also ensure that all biospecimen related data is entered in an accurate and timely manner, maintain an internal database of all research biospecimen, and assist in the development of biospecimen handling and storage standard operating procedures. Other duties may be performed as assigned. Description Minimum Requirement Preferred / Desired Experience 2years direct experience in nursing or operating Room setting 1 year tissue procurement experience 4 years tissue procurement experience 4 years direct experience in nursing or operating room setting 1 year clinical research Education High School Diploma Associate's Degree or equivalent years of experience Certified Surgical Technologist Training Special Skills Knowledge of Medical Terminology Computer literate Experience with Microsoft Office General office equipment Knowledge of FDA, GCP and ICH guidelines Regarding clinical research Licensure LIP, Surgery Tech or other medical professional RN
