Senior Advanced DevOps Engineer Location: Boulder, Colorado Type: Contract Job #86985 Requisition #: 2025-69663 Employment Type: Contract Labor Job Title: CL - Senior Advanced DevOps Engineer Location: Boulder, CO (Hybrid; 2-3 days on-site per week) Overview Our client delivers advanced engineering solutions supporting mission critical operations for the Department of Defense and aerospace programs. This role enables secure, reliable cloud platforms and automation to support high assurance software delivery for defense customers. Equal Opportunity Employer Individuals with Disabilities / Protected Veterans Responsibilities Design and maintain container orchestration platforms; automate platform lifecycle (provisioning, upgrades, scaling, hardening). Automate deployment and configuration of core infrastructure services: identity and access, networking, application security, logging, monitoring, and delivery. Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows; integrate tests, security scans, and compliance gates. Collaborate with internal/external platform consumers to guide architecture, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational excellence. Author runbooks and platform documentation; contribute to reliability reviews and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 years. Experience with public/private/mixed cloud environments (AWS, Azure; RHOSP, VIO). Hands-on with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes (or Rancher/OpenShift). Practical experience with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Jenkins) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Infrastructure automation using Terraform/Terragrunt and pipeline orchestration. Supporting production-grade apps in virtualized/cloud environments using automation. Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work cross functionally. Security & Compliance Knowledge of DoD/IC security practices: encryption, certificates/key management, patch/STIG/RMF hardening, auditing. Familiarity with scalable networking and web standards: NGINX/load balancers/firewalls, REST APIs, web security mechanisms. Preferred Tools & Technologies Cloud: AWS, Azure; IaaS OpenStack/RHOSP/VIO Platforms: Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift Automation: Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer Messaging/DB/Cache: RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch Observability: logging/monitoring integrations across platform services Clearance Requirements Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire. Applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
