Position Purpose: As a key player in the country's food supply chain, our drivers ensure that customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition. Our Backhaul Drivers are the face of the company, fostering lasting relationships with customers while efficiently delivering food and non-food products. The Backhaul Truck Driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer (day cab/sleeper), tandem trailer, or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, picking up logistics loads and other related products safely and punctually, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role includes delivering and unloading food-related products to customers while communicating professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Teamwork is essential, and all duties will be performed to best serve the company. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Travel to assigned supplier/vendor and warehouse locations based on a set route and delivery schedule, which can include local and over-the-road assignments. Ensure timely deliveries and that the correct products are received and loaded back to the warehouse. Conduct thorough load and paperwork inspections, including product counts, invoices, quality checks, and more as necessary. Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly related to backhaul operations. Regularly check in with the direct supervisor regarding routes, loads, and schedules, and report any issues promptly. Perform additional related duties as needed. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent 1+ years of commercial driving experience Ability to work Monday through Friday Willingness to be away from home for 2 days a week Valid CDL-A Must be 21 years of age or older Meet all relevant State licensing and certification requirements Maintain a Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass a post-offer drug test and background check Successfully complete a road test Obtain or have a valid current DOT Health Card Ability to hand-lift and use a two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to handle product cases of various sizes and weights, typically between 10-35 pounds, and up to 60-90 pounds depending on location.
