Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Title: Supplier Quality EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to audit new suppliers, document results, and provide guidance to enhance their quality processes. This role involves collaborating with suppliers to ensure quality compliance and driving technical process improvements.Responsibilities Audit new suppliers and assess the level of risk to determine business engagement. Document audit results in a professional report for sharing with financing partners. Provide guidance and support to suppliers to implement robust quality processes. Complete quality requirements input into PPAPs and other related documentation. Specify and validate inspection tools and gauges for suppliers. Develop technical process improvement strategies using SPC data to ensure compliance. Monitor key performance indicators for supplier quality, such as early life failures and DPPMs. Lead the resolution of critical supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions. Guide and mentor suppliers to improve their quality over time. Implement and manage the supplier scorecard to measure ongoing performance. Drive the relationship between suppliers and the company regarding quality performance and corrective actions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred. 2+ years of experience in quality engineering in a related industry. Strong understanding of Supplier Quality best practices. Proficiency in analytical skills using Excel and SPC tools such as Minitab. Experienced in PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA, Versed in problem-solving techniques. Experience in auditing manufacturing facilities in accordance with ISO 9001 QMS. Knowledge of GD&T tolerancing, AQL inspection, and Zero defects philosophy. Ability to multi-task and support requests from multiple internal and external requestors. A self-starter with a passion for making a real difference in a fast-growing industry.
