Job Description The Quality Technician is responsible for improving the quality of products produced and shipped. This is done through documenting and modifying quality processes, policies and procedures. Procedures include supplier and customer claim investigation and corrective action, data collection, analysis, statistical process controls, auditing, and reporting. Additionally, this role may be responsible for timely and cost-effective disposition of supplier and customer-rejected material. This is the entry level of a four-level job family. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who utilizes knowledge and understanding as well as a strong work ethic to ensure all specifications and quality are met. Responsibilities Enter scrap, rework, rejection, claim and inspection data Calibration of scales, gages and measuring equipment Collect, track and enter quality samples Collect statistical process control (SPC) data and participate in root cause investigations and analysis May edit, update and maintain customer requirements (i.e., label and packaging specs.) to meet regulatory, customer or supplier requirements May audit production inspectors or provide guidance to production employees Gather and exchange information with vendors or customers regarding quality requirements or dispute resolution (may require visits to vendor/customer facilities) Support facility ISO 9001 activities appointed by facility Quality or Lab Manager Other duties as assigned. Desired Experience Advanced mathematical skills Able to work and lead in a team atmosphere Intermediate computer skills, including manufacturing software Basic computer skills (MS Office, Statistical Software, etc.) Prefer basic understanding of surface defects Must be able to comprehend and retain internal, regulatory requirements, instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, including but not limited to, synthesizing information, identifying problems, and developing alternative solutions Must be able to stand for extended period of time and exert moderate to heavy physical effort with a minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds Must be willing to travel as needed via most efficient means Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack About Us Our Company is proud to have a dynamic and inclusive workforce where employees are empowered to innovate, thrive and grow.
