Product Manager/ Flat Rolling

The Product Manager - Flat Rolling at SMS group is a high-impact leadership role focused on unifying the North American service portfolio for flat rolling. What you'll do Maintains dialog with the SMS Service Shops, SMS Sales & Customer to offer solutions for equipment repairs / modernizations / spares / services Regular Customer visits to Hot, Cold, Aluminum Mills for in collaboration with our Central Sales responsible person Supports customers operation issues by analysis of IBA Data, Dimensional inspection, etc. utilizing onsite resources to perform inspection, and gather data to provide a Maintenance, Modernization & or New solution for the operational issues. Identifies Repairs to be developed / executed in the various SMS Workshops Develops Standard Repairs ,Modifications, Modernization packages that can be scaled across multiple customers/equipment Provides Repair methods (Shops & field Service), component modernization, Maintenance Contracts, recommended spare parts proposals etc. Collaborate with OEM Engineer for Engineered repairs & enhancements Creates Market analysis for New and existing products & services (example: Roller Guide conversion, Step sleds, etc.) Responsible tracking of core products Collaborates with OPS team to create and implement digital inspection & ERP system integration throughout our SMS Workshops Creates Data Base of Spare Components that can be altered to cover multiple customers equipment Supports Spare part group for Core Components Collaborates with Marketing to create & or update Flat Rolling Product service website & product brochures In addition to above, support all customer and workshop needs in regard to Flat Rolling where applicable Other duties as assigned What you'll need Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field Experience: 5 plus years of advanced knowledge of Flat Rolling Mills / steel production / maintenance / operation Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical background with a deep understanding of flat rolling processes and roll shop operations Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and align multiple regional sites under a single strategic vision Travel: Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%) to customer sites and North American workshop locations What we offer Competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision coverage, paid vacation, paid holiday time, 401k with a company match, training (parts of it in Germany), a tuition reimbursement program and more!
