Assistant (Vice) Principal

Description Star of the Sea Catholic School is seeking a qualified Assistant Principal. Position Overview: As a key member of the Star of the Sea administrative team, the Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal and serves as a strategic partner in school leadership. Under the Principal's guidance, the Assistant Principal co-manages the development and execution of instructional design, school-wide policies, specialized programming, and student conduct. Furthermore, they serve as a cornerstone of the school community, personifying the institution's mission and vision for all faculty and students. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Assists the Principal in supporting a positive Catholic educational climate and constructive relationship between students, parents, teachers, and other members of the staff. The Assistant Principal will also have teaching responsibilities as this position includes classroom teaching responsibilities on a part time basis. Assumes administrative and other responsibilities in the absence of the Principal Provides instructional leadership for teachers, to include instructional design and delivery, classroom teacher evaluations, and guidance to instructional staff RequirementsQualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field A Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field A valid state of Virginia teaching and administration license Desired Qualities include: Excellent communication and organizational skills Enjoys working with children and adults Strong collaborative skills Professional in mannerisms, communication, and appearance Exemplifies Catholic values in all aspects of the position
