Job Description

Ignite Communication and Change Lives in Vibrant Yonkers - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with UsOverview What if your next career leap drove the essence of humanity - profoundly? As a Speech Language Pathologist within a bustling community of Yonkers, your role transcends the conventional treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You'll have the power to illuminate unrealized potential, restore confidence, and forge invaluable connections - engaging with clients from toddlers articulating their first syllables to seniors reclaiming their ability to share stories. In this unique opportunity, you will cater to a diverse range of individuals, covering all stages of life, in a beautifully balanced clinic that merges outpatient services with the occasional need for inpatient engagement. Whether your true passion resides in fostering pediatric language acquisition, treating adult neurogenic disorders, or supporting geriatric cognitive recovery, you will discover an enriching and flexible work environment that prioritizes both passion and purpose. Description Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methodologies. Design individualized treatment plans tailored to meet immediate objectives while considering overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language clarity, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing proficiency. Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families, to develop seamless care strategies. Provide education to patients and families to ensure continuity and support outside of therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations, reinforcing a consistent approach to care throughout the treatment continuum. Maintain timely and accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational protocols. Commit to ongoing professional development through education and collaboration with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within a month of commencing employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across all age groups, demonstrating a profound understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering strong communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Adeptness in adjusting therapy techniques to cater to a wide spectrum of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with electronic medical records and proficient in documentation requirements. Benefits Competitive salary that reflects experience. Flexible working schedule to enhance life-work balance and accommodate varied patient caseloads. Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance availability. Support for continuing education and professional growth. A collaborative environment emphasizing quality care and continuous learning. A Path That Evolves With You - and Enriches Lives By stepping into this role, you won't merely deliver speech therapy - you will immerse yourself in a community-centered mission dedicated to vocal empowerment, enhancing communication, and creating cherished human experiences through the essential acts of understanding and connection. You will collaborate with colleagues who treat one another as family in a setting that prioritizes teamwork over rivalry. Each patient has a narrative to share; we trust in your ability to help craft its expression. Why You'll Adore Living and Working Here The essence of Yonkers emanates a unique beat, effortlessly intertwining the vibrancy of urban innovation with the warmth of community spirit. Situated near the Hudson River, this area is a sanctuary for those hoping to strike an ideal equilibrium between nature, culture, and opportunity. Families gather in local parks for live performances and picnics, while outdoor enthusiasts revel in various activities - from hiking along scenic trails to enjoying kayaking on tranquil waters. Food lovers indulge in a diverse array of culinary delights, from dynamic food truck offerings to upscale eateries showcasing gourmet renditions of beloved classics. This city's artistic pulse resonates through each mural adorning its streets, the melodies played in venues that showcase local talent, and the festivals that unite individuals from diverse backgrounds. And for healthcare professionals, the advantages are numerous-no state income tax, a manageable cost of living, and a flourishing healthcare network make this locale an ideal environment for professional growth and stability. Whether you're entering the field or are an experienced clinician looking for an opportunity to expand your horizons, this is where your professional journey can flourish. Who We Seek We are searching for a Speech Language Pathologist inspired not only by results but by genuine compassion. Someone who envisions future expression in the silent gaze of a young child, who discerns resolve in the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor. You may be a pediatric-focused professional eager to dive into adult therapy - or a specialist in neuro conditions enthused about incorporating early intervention strategies into your practice. Whichever your focus, if you are ready to deliver care from the heart and lead with expertise, we are excited to welcome you aboard. Let's Create Meaning Together If you believe communication transcends mere sound, that therapy exceeds simple tasks - if you value building trust before tackling objectives, and laughter as much as language - then this may signal a crucial chapter in your professional narrative. Join us in a community that cherishes the power of communication, connection, and the courage it takes to start anew. Apply today to bring your voice to our team - and help others rediscover theirs.
