Pharmacy Technician in San Antonio, TX

The position is based in San Antonio, TX, and is a contract assignment starting March 2, 2026, with shift hours from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. A valid Texas pharmacy technician license is required. Key Responsibilities: Prepare medications by accurately reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling for pharmacist dispensing. Dispense medications, process insurance claims, maintain patient profiles, and file prescriptions efficiently. Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, performing order entry, rotating stock, and ordering supplies as needed. Support daily pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure timely and accurate service delivery. Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and team members to assist with medication inquiries and education. Ensure compliance with quality checklists, safety standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Operate dispensing machines or robotics and assist with IV room operations or compounding as applicable. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license. Experience working in long-term care pharmacy preferred. Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, insurance processing, and medication dispensing protocols. Ability to work the designated afternoon/evening shift.
