Position DescriptionAt a GlanceLegrand has an exciting opportunity for aProduct Designer 2 to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Product Design Engineer 2 contributes to the conception, design, development, and verification of new products. .Employer:Starline Holdings LLCJob Location: 168 Georgetown Road, Canonsburg, PA 13517Work Hours:Full time, 40 hours per week (M-F, 8 am to 5 pm)Essential Functions: Create innovative, customizable power distribution busway systems and components. Apply a systematic, analytical approach to concepting, designing, and testing. Design and develop mechanical systems utilizing a variety of manufacturing methods, including thermoplastic extrusion, plastic injection molding, thermoset molding, metal forming, metal casting, and metal extrusion. Utilize 2D and 3D CAD systems to perform detailed design analysis, including structural, thermal, and finite element analysis. Conduct mechanical materials and tool cost studies; collaborate with vendors to ensure cost-effective realization of designs. Compile requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures. Participate in mechanical design reviews with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing personnel. Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering teams from product conceptualization through launch. Assist in directing testing activities to verify product performance, system integration, and compliance with applicable standards. Schedule, track, and maintain the mechanical aspects of assigned project timelines. Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing teams to ensure product manufacturability. Build strong, positive working relationships with fellow designers. Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization’s overall objectives. QualificationsMinimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering, or related . Two (2) years of experience as a Product Design Engineer or related. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience designing systems or components for mid-volume manufacturing; experience with integrated system design, including mechanical simulation, 3D modeling, DFM, material selection, and manufacturing processes; experience with project management processes and principles; experience with Product Lifecycle Managing software; experience with Enterprise Resources Planning software; and experience with completing projects (at least 30) that required 3D modeling and 2D drawings, including material selection, manufacturing methods, structural FEA, tolerance analysis, design reviews, and verification/validation to ensure robust system performance.Travel requirements:Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.Remote/work telecommuting:May work remote up to two (2) days per week.Annual Salary: $100,000 per yearCompany InfoAbout LegrandLegrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
