Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist skilled in PET imaging to support a renowned cancer center serving adult and geriatric patients. This travel assignment in Des Plaines, IL, offers a focused, day-shift schedule in a dynamic oncology setting utilizing cutting-edge GE equipment. Key Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 3 years' PET experience required Proficient with GE imaging equipment and PET procedures Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT, ARRT, or NMTCB) Valid Illinois State Nuclear Medicine license Current BLS certification Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program Skilled in radiation safety practices, radiopharmaceutical preparation, and scanning protocols Experience with HIDA scans, isolation precautions, and peripheral IV initiation Preferred: Familiarity with Siemens equipment, gastric emptying studies, MUGA scans, bone scans, liver imaging, and SPECT is a plus Location: Des Plaines offers a welcoming suburban environment with convenient access to downtown Chicago. Role Responsibilities: Assess patients accurately and perform Nuclear Medicine and PET scanning procedures Ensure radiation safety compliance and effective patient care throughout imaging processes Prepare and handle radiopharmaceuticals under the oversight of a Board-Certified Radiologist Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response units Utilize EPIC documentation and SBAR communication methods to support provider coordination Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4x10-hour day shifts, 07:30 to 16:00 No on-call duties required Additional Details: Scrubs required (any solid color, no patterns or logos) First-time travelers are welcome to apply Approximately 3-4 PET scans performed daily This travel role combines rewarding clinical work with a flexible schedule and exposure to a specialized oncology care setting.
