Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction for and coordinating activities of the Security and Protective Services program. Duties/Responsibilities: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation, progress, and completion. Creates and delivers daily lesson plans or weekly work plans covering all curricular, state, national, and Department of Labor requirements. Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport. Facilitates administration of all relevant student certification testing. Conducts/facilitates physical demonstrations and fitness activities relevant to meeting training objectives. Records daily student attendance and maintains daily student accountability. Responsible for accountability of all equipment, supplies, and materials within classroom. Accountable for the cleanliness and organization of classroom. Responsible for reports required by the Supervisor such as monthly reports on case-management of students, purchase requisitions, and weekly student evaluations. Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications:Minimum: Currently holds a Guard Card or Guard Trainer Certification from the State in which you work in. Possesses practical experience in the subject/training area; must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives; extensive practical knowledge of Security and Protective Services careers and fields. Certified Protection Officer Instructor Certification or ability to become certified. Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and satisfy minimum qualifications criteria relating to education, teaching experience, formal training, and security experience. Preferred: Career Technical Training or Adult Education Teaching Credential; Bachelor's degree in related field; Certified Protection Officer Instructor Certification; Teaching or training experience within the security field.
