An experienced Certified Surgical Technician with a background in Level 1 trauma is sought for a travel opportunity within an advanced Operating Room setting. The position offers a dynamic environment where expertise in trauma and various surgical specialties such as General surgery, GU/GYN, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular procedures is highly valued. Location: Based in Portland, ME, this role is situated in a leading medical center known for state-of-the-art OR technology including Storz, Stryker, Olympus equipment, and Intuitive Robotics. The facility operates with Epic EMR and maintains a patient ratio of 1:1, ensuring dedicated and focused care. Responsibilities: Perform surgical technology duties in the Operating Room with a focus on Level 1 trauma cases and various specialty surgeries. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Adhere to procedural and safety standards while managing complex surgical equipment. Participate in one overnight trauma call per schedule and fulfill weekend shift requirements. Maintain professionalism in appearance by wearing the issued teal scrubs and complying with hospital policies. Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) credential required. Minimum of 3 years of surgical tech experience with Level 1 trauma exposure. Familiarity with surgical specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, and more. Flexibility, accountability, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills are essential. Knowledge of Epic EMR and advanced surgical equipment is preferred. Schedule and Details: 12-hour day shifts, primarily 7 AM to 7 PM, with weekend work on a 1:4 rotation. Weekly hours preferred at 48, with a minimum of 36 accepted. Call responsibilities as defined for Trauma and specialty teams.
