Temperature Control Technician

Job Title: Temperature Control Technician Location: Miami, FL. Employment Type: Contract / Project-Based About the Role We are looking for a skilled and proactive Temperature Control Technician to join our client's team in the HVAC sector. In this role, you will contribute to the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of temporary HVAC and cooling systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Responsibilities Install, operate, and maintain water-cooled chillers, air handlers, and hushpacks. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all temperature control equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime. Assist with rigging, hose and duct setup, and system configuration. Monitor temperatures, cooling performance, pressures, and system readings. Support start-up, commissioning, and shut-down of HVAC systems. Work safely in compliance with company standards and site requirements. Document work performed, inspections, and equipment performance. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other field technicians to ensure proper system operation. Requirements Experience working with temporary temperature control equipment (preferred). Strong technical knowledge of water-cooled chiller systems, air handlers (AHUs), and hushpacks / generators with integrated cooling. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components. Comfortable working in outdoor and fast-paced environments. Ability to lift, maneuver, and install hoses, ducts, and mechanical components. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Availability to work extended hours or shifts as required by the project. Valid driver's licence. Preferred Qualifications (if any) Prior experience with industrial or commercial HVAC systems. Knowledge of temporary cooling setups or event-based temperature control. Familiarity with brands used in rental cooling (e.g., Aggreko, Trane, Carrier). Understanding of chilled water systems, pumps, and distribution layouts. Safety Requirements Compliance with all jobsite safety procedures. Must wear required PPE at all times (safety boots, high-visibility vest, gloves, etc.). Ability to work in high-temperature environments depending on the project.
