IV Certified Pharmacy Technician - Arlington, VA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician with IV certification to support a specialty infusion pharmacy in Northern Virginia. This contract-to-hire position blends patient care coordination and hands-on pharmacy operations, offering approximately 50-70% PCC responsibilities and 30-50% dispensing and clean room support. The role demands immediate availability and adaptability to integrate smoothly into established workflows. Key Responsibilities: Process patient referrals and intake documentation promptly Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, and assist with prior authorizations Coordinate therapy initiation and medication delivery logistics Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and clinical staff Maintain detailed patient records and track therapy progress Support prescription processing, dispensing, and sterile compounding preparation Uphold USP compliance and maintain clean room standards Manage inventory and assist pharmacists with order fulfillment Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license (Virginia preferred) PTCB certification highly preferred Experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, or hospital setting Familiarity with prior authorization and insurance processing Strong background in sterile compounding and clean room operations Excellent communication and organizational abilities Must be able to start immediately Location: Alexandria, VA (candidates from DC or Maryland areas are welcome to apply) Job Type: Contract to Hire with potential for permanent placement after 2-3 months This role offers a hybrid workflow, blending patient interaction with essential pharmacy support, ideal for candidates aiming to expand their technical and coordination skills in a specialty pharmacy environment.
