Job Title: Data Modeler Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain data models that support business intelligence, analytics, and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will translate complex business requirements into effective and scalable data structures, ensuring data integrity, performance, and usability across systems. Responsibilities: Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business processes and reporting needs. Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and data engineering teams to understand and document data requirements. Develop and maintain database schemas, data dictionaries, and metadata to ensure data consistency and usability. Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Analyze existing data structures and suggest improvements to enhance data quality and accessibility. Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data standards and policies. Support ETL team by providing accurate data mapping and transformation logic. Troubleshoot data model-related issues and provide technical guidance to development teams. Stay updated with emerging data modeling techniques and tools. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 10+ years of experience in data modeling, database design, or related roles. Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling concepts (normalization, denormalization, keys, indexes). Proficiency with data modeling tools such as erwin, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, PowerDesigner, or similar. Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. Ability to translate business requirements into clear and logical data models. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with big data technologies and NoSQL databases. Certification in data modeling or database management.
