Job DescriptionJob Title: Buyer - Federal contracts Type of Engagement: 12-month contract to hire (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available) Work Location: Remote (Must be able to work standard business hours aligned to Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones.) US Citizens only, please! MUST have Federal Government experience!Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Buyer - Federal Contracts to support end-to-end procurement activities aligned to U.S. government contracting requirements. This is a contract-to-hire, 100% remote role (work hours aligned to EST or CST). The Buyer will manage purchasing execution, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations, and will play a key role in supporting RFP/RFQ activity in partnership with cross-functional proposal teams. This position has growth potential to evolve into a Procurement Manager role over time. Essential Job Responsibilities: Manage procurement activities supporting federal/government contracts, ensuring alignment with applicable contractual and purchasing requirements. Own day-to-day buying activities including sourcing, quoting, purchase order execution, supplier follow-up, and delivery coordination. Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, delivery terms, and contract terms & conditions (T&Cs). Support and/or coordinate RFPs and purchasing-related inputs for proposal development; partner closely with the proposal team and internal stakeholders to meet deadlines. Work with Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and related supplier channels; manage relationships and purchasing workflows tied to reseller/partner structures. Identify procurement risks (lead times, availability, vendor performance, cost increases) and proactively recommend mitigation strategies. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to improve service levels, pricing, and responsiveness. Operate independently with minimal oversight; manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables as a self-starter. Required Skills & Experience: 5-10 years of progressive procurement/buyer experience. Demonstrated procurement experience supporting government/federal contracts. Strong experience negotiating contracts and T&Cs (pricing, terms, SLAs, delivery, etc.). Experience working with or purchasing through VARs (Value-Added Resellers). Experience supporting RFP/RFQ processes and working cross-functionally with proposal stakeholders. Proven ability to work independently, execute with urgency, and deliver results with limited direction. Big Bonus Points if you Have: Prior experience in an environment with structured compliance requirements (government contracting, regulated industries, etc.). Experience building procurement processes/documentation that can scale as the function grows. Job Requisition # 40092 #LI-DK1A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $58.00 - $63.00 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
