Category Insurance Description The Manager of Property & Casualty (P&C) Producer Development is responsible for enhancing the technical insurance expertise of our future partners, with a strong emphasis on insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and market positioning. This role focuses primarily on insurer-facing activities - developing training materials, facilitating insurer relations, supporting strategic placement initiatives, and ensuring that producers are equipped with deep technical knowledge to drive profitable growth. The successful candidate will serve as a critical link between carrier partners and SSP, ensuring alignment and proficiency in complex insurance products and risk solutions. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver structured technical training programs for producers focused on P&C products, underwriting philosophies, and carrier-specific appetites and processes. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and technical liaison between producers and carrier partners. Support producers in pre-underwriting analysis and strategic placement consultation, emphasizing technical accuracy and optimal insurer fit. Maintain a deep understanding of carrier guidelines, manuscript endorsements, and niche program developments to advise producers appropriately. Provide input into carrier negotiation and selection based on deep technical insights and field intelligence. Ensure compliance with internal training standards, insurer requirements, and continuing education (CE) regulations where applicable. Position RequirementsQualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, or AU highly preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial P&C insurance, including underwriting, broking, technical training, or product development roles. Strong working knowledge of insurer underwriting guidelines, coverage forms, rating principles, and risk management practices. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to translate complex insurance concepts into actionable producer education. Experience building and delivering technical training programs, both in-person and virtually. Ability to work cross-functionally with underwriting, carrier relations, sales, and marketing teams. Highly organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel); familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) a plus. Preferred Attributes: Prior experience working directly with or within an insurance brokerage environment. Familiarity with specialized P&C markets (e.g., construction, energy, healthcare, professional liability) a strong plus. Strong analytical skills to interpret insurer data and performance metrics.
