Genesis Capital (the "Company") is one of the largest business purpose lenders in the country, focused on providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers who buy, renovate, and sell single-family and/or multi-family residential real estate. The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist will design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that enhance employee skills, support organizational goals, and foster a culture of continuous learning. This role will partner with business leaders, subject-matter experts, and HR to create learning experiences that strengthen employee capability, improve operational performance, and ensure compliance with lending regulations. Principal Duties: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Create innovative, solutions-oriented learning programs that support lending functions- construction & real-estate loan origination, underwriting, credit analysis and servicing. Produce training materials including eLearning modules, LMS pathways, microlearning, simulations, job aids, and assessments. Deliver dynamic virtual and in-person training sessions that train employees on Genesis Capital business and construction loan processes. Facilitate case studies and real-world lending scenarios relevant to fix-and-flip, bridge, construction, rental-hold, and other investor loan programs. Coach team members to adopt best practices in credit quality, customer communication, and operational excellence. Partner with lending, credit, operations, and compliance leaders to assess learning needs and align training with evolving product offerings and underwriting standards. Create training knowledge checks and metrics to measure training impact using data, performance metrics, and learner feedback. Assist with new hire orientation, onboarding and training. Additional HR Departmental tasks may be assigned as needed. Education and Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have a bachelor's degree. 3-5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or Training Facilitation. Proven experience creating lending, banking, mortgage, or financial-services training programs. Strong understanding of lending processes including underwriting, credit, loan operations, and compliance. Proficiency with instructional design tools (Articulate Storyline/Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.). Strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills. Preferred Experience supporting fast-paced lending or real estate-focused organizations. Familiarity with LMS systems (Workday Learning, Cornerstone, Absorb, etc.). Certifications such as ATD CPTD, APTD, or equivalent.
