Associate Director - Quality and Regulatory - Pharmacy DepartmentThe Quality and Regulatory Pharmacy Department at MD Anderson ensures that all pharmacy practices meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The team oversees medication-use policies, regulatory readiness, and accreditation activities-including Joint Commission and CMS requirements. They lead quality improvement initiatives, guide medication safety efforts, and coordinate system-wide monitoring to reduce risk and enhance patient outcomes. The department also drives the pharmacy analytics strategy, using data to improve efficiency, financial performance, and clinical quality across the institution.The Ideal candidate is a highly skilled pharmacy leader with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and eligibility for Texas pharmacist licensure. They bring at least five years of supervisory or management experience within hospital-based pharmacy services, supported by completion of a PGY1 and PGY2 residency or equivalent experience in pharmacy quality and safety. The candidate demonstrates deep knowledge of regulatory standards, particularly Joint Commission and CMS requirements, and preferably holds certifications such as CMQ or oncology-related quality and safety credentials. They possess a strong background in medication safety, quality improvement, and operational excellence, with proven success driving compliance, performance improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a complex healthcare environment.Working Hours: This position will bea Hybrid model with a potential for two days a week remote. Leads the Pharmacy Joint Commission and CMS team to maintain regulatory compliance. Participates in and leads institutional committees focused on medication use and policy. Quality & Analytics Oversees and provides leadership for the Division of Pharmacy Quality and Research Committee. Helps establish quality priorities and projects for the Division of Pharmacy. Leads analytics strategy and sets goals for developing and disseminating medication-use and operational data to improve efficiency, financial performance, and health outcomes. Medication Safety Participates in and leads committees related to medication use and medication safety. Organizes and provides leadership for medication safety monitoring and improvement initiatives. Leads efforts to address medication safety issues and improve related processes. Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTSEducation Doctorate (Professional) Preferred: Master's-level degree Certification Eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Texas Preferred Certifications: Registered Pharmacist in Texas Certification in Medical Quality (CMQ) or similar credential Experience Minimum five (5) years of pharmacy supervisory or management experience Experience in hospital-based pharmacy services Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residencies OR equivalent experience in pharmacy quality and safety (clinical or operational roles) Preferred Experience Familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS regulatory requirements Background in oncology pharmacy quality and safety, demonstrated through certification and/or relevant work experience Onsite Presence Hybrid work model This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
