Job Title: Controller Department: Accounting Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Location: The Union League of Philadelphia - 140 S. Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19102 DESCRIPTION: As a Controller, you will perform daily operations and affirm the success of our Accountings Department while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established financial policies and internal controls. This position plays a key role in financial reporting, member billing, payment management, and departmental coordination. RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary point of contact for the accounting department via email and phone Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions Provides customer service for all member/guest inquiries, member statements, and league amenities, including but not limited to: Hotel Fitness Dining Founding Forward Parking Golf Assists in all member billing questions Assists with credit card processing and maintenance Participate in year-end audit to help ensure adherence to internal controls and best Coordinate with department heads and managers to review and monitor expenses and revenue Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations and other routine financial operations as needed Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve system efficiencies, including JONAS and related platforms Provide guidance, training, and oversight to accounting staff to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to best practices Serve as a backup to the CFO as needed for daily accounting operations and departmental oversight SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:Experience working in a private club or hospitality preferred Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered Competent In Microsoft Office Suite and JONAS experience preferred Strong Interpersonal skills Maintains a professional and presentable appearance in accordance with organizational guidelines.
