Active - Benefit Eligible and Accrues Time Off Work Hours per Biweekly Pay Period: 80.00 Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Location: 3525 Lakeland Hills Blvd Lakeland, FL Pay Rate: Min $23.59 Mid $29.49Position Summary Perform phlebotomy and administer medications in accordance with the physician's treatment plan. Educates patient and family. Provides general patient care to meet the needs of the patient. Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary cancer care team to provide holistic care to patients. Is involved in community activities including prevention and detection, therapeutic care, and survivorship activities. Standard Work Duties: LRHPG Licensed Practical Nurse Actively participates in team development, achieving dashboards, and in accomplishing department goals and objectives. Facilitates continuity of care through interdisciplinary collaboration of all appropriate care services, including community resources. Respects the cultural, spiritual, and psychosocial differences of patients so that equality and continuity of care is achieved. Performs and documents basic nursing care procedures. Administers medication to patients when ordered and appropriate, documenting time, route, and outcome in the EHR. Performs phlebotomy tasks and checks all incoming lab results, flow charts results and instructs patients in precaution, if necessary. Utilizes the telephone in the successful delivery of patient care, including pharmacy calls, and calling patients with test results. Prepares the patient for tests and procedures through education and physical preparation. Set up rooms for examination. Witness consent forms and assists with procedures Monitor patients after procedures such as stereotactic radio surgery, high dose brachytherapy, and other highly technical procedures. Promotes positive patient relations and serves as the patient's advocate. Orders tests, x-rays, scans and various procedures requested by the physician. Calls in patient prescriptions and refills to pharmacies. Responds to routine requests of physicians or relays information to Primary Nurse. Role model through professional development continuous learning and improvement of competence. For services rendered, ensures the accuracy and completion of all encounter forms before routing to business office for charge capturing. Documents all aspects of patient care and maintains patient records, EHR and care plans in a timely manner as appropriate for unit. Competencies & Skills Essential: Practices within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols.
