Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Assistant Nurse Manager to lead and support our telemetry unit within a well-established healthcare facility serving the Pacific Northwest region. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality nursing care while fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, mentor, and advocate for both patients and staff. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, including adherence to infection control standards. Engage with patients and families to uphold service excellence and address concerns promptly to enhance patient satisfaction. Communicate effectively and professionally, resolving conflicts as they arise. Participate in policy development and decision-making processes to promote evidence-based nursing practices. Assume accountability for unit performance in quality, operations, finance, and regulatory compliance. Advocate for patients by coordinating care across multiple healthcare disciplines. Collaborate with departments to optimize workflow and patient throughput. Assist in recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing personnel. Plan and manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate personnel utilization based on competencies and patient needs. Lead or participate in quality improvement projects and attend relevant committees. Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct appraisals as needed. Contribute to budget development and monitor productivity standards. Promote a healthy work environment that minimizes occupational illness and injury. Commit to ongoing professional growth and development. Qualifications Minimum of five years as a Registered Nurse, including at least two years in acute care or a similar setting. At least one year of recent experience in a charge nurse or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of nursing scope of practice, nursing process, and individualized care planning. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to seek resources and solve problems. Proficient in assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families. Comfortable using computers and learning new software applications. Capable of providing direct patient care. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven years of relevant RN experience may be considered. Licenses and Certifications Current RN licensure in the applicable state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. National certification in specialty area preferred. Required certifications vary by unit and may include ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, ONS chemotherapy & biotherapy provider, and others as applicable. Additional Requirements Successful completion of physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
