Production Manager

Overview We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager with a strong background in metal fabrication to lead daily production operations, drive process improvements, and ensure high-quality output across our manufacturing floor. This role requires a hands-on leader who understands fabrication processes, supports team development, and champions operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fabricators, machine operators, welders, and production staff. Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Fabrication Expertise Provide technical guidance on fabrication processes including cutting, forming, welding, machining, and assembly. Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and support complex builds or custom projects. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, press brakes, welders, and laser/plasma cutters. Quality & Process Improvement Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications and industry standards. Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing, 5S, and process optimization. Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability, design changes, and production planning. Planning & Coordination Work closely with supply chain, engineering, and project management to align production schedules with customer requirements. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, fabricated components, and consumables. Support budgeting, cost control, and forecasting for labor, materials, and equipment. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in a fabrication-focused environment. Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, and materials. Proven ability to lead teams, manage workflow, and drive operational improvements. Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Preferred Skills Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Certifications in welding, fabrication, or lean methodologies. Background in custom fabrication or low-to-medium volume production environments. #JDP
