First Place Winner of National School Boards Association Magna Award for innovative programs benefiting students and their communities. Become a VIP and provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students in grades K-6. Volunteers are paired with teachers based on their interests and schedules, and receive the training and support they need to become effective, confident tutors. Opportunities are available at eight elementary schools in the large diverse Paradise Valley Unified School District: Arrowhead, Cactus View, Campo Bello, Desert Shadows, Echo Mountain Primary, Mercury Mine, North Ranch and Sunset Canyon. Our mission is to increase student achievement by providing instructional assistance and the individual attention of dedicated, high quality volunteers while also promoting positive school and community partnerships. 100% of our volunteers would recommend our program to friends and family.
