Job Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is accountable to the patient care team for providing direct patient care functions under the supervision of a registered nurse and performing clerical, communication and other related duties to facilitate the efficient functioning of Department services. All duties are to be performed in collaboration with team members. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to patients, the public and co-workers. Location:Seattle, Washington, United States Responsibilities: - Assists patients in their routine activities of daily living, including performing range of motion, ambulating patients, positioning patients and providing skin care, distributing linen and changing beds, assisting with feeding and meal delivery, and assisting with routine hygiene care including toileting and incontinent care, as well as appropriate oral and personal hygiene. - Assists patient care team in collection of patient data and specimens, including obtaining urine, stool, and sputum specimens and processing specimens as needed, obtaining and recording health, weights, vital signs, including pulse oximetry and pain assessment and I&O, and communicating patient status and reports changes in patient condition to licensed professional. - Assists patient care team by performing and explaining designated patient care procedures, including performing incentive spirometry, transporting patients, prepping for diagnostic tests, assisting rehab therapists (PM & R), performing pulse oximetry/oxygen set up in oxygen therapy, preparing rooms (supplies), providing post mortem care, preparing for admission and discharge, assisting nurses in emergency situations, maintaining and cleaning equipment, performing suction (oral, naso pharynx), performing blood sugar finger sticks, removing IV catheters per licensed nurse instruction, and performing EKGs (department specific responsibility). - Answers unit phone and directs calls accordingly. - Performs data entry into electronic medical database systems. Documents patient care and related duties appropriately. - Performs selected patient registration activities. - Coordinates equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction. - Performs any other related duties (e.g., clerical, technical duties) as assigned. - Perform breast imaging, screening, and diagnostic procedures. - Perform 3D Mammography, Diagnostic Mammograms, Digital Mammography, and Screening Mammograms. Required Skills & Certifications: - High school diploma or GED equivalent required - CNA license - AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire - ARRT certification - ARRT (M) certification - Active WA License - Minimum 1 year of experience Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Hologic experience Special Considerations: - Must be flexible with day off during the week (typically Tuesday or Wednesday). Scheduling: - Monday through Friday, no weekends or Holidays. - Day shift. - Outpatient clinic setting. - Day off during the week varies based upon unit needs.
