Responsibilities This position is for an upcoming opportunity. Join us in enhancing Fleet readiness by providing Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) to Sailors through exceptional, hands-on instruction in Ship Control Systems (SCS). This role presents a unique opportunity to ensure Sailors receive the training necessary to operate, troubleshoot, and optimize ship performance effectively. We are looking for passionate, experienced Navy operators and instructors who are committed to teaching, mentoring, and elevating Sailor readiness. Primary Training Duties: Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in line with Navy-approved curricula. Train Sailors to: Operate Ship Control Systems within technical limits, Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, Perform Steering and Thrust Control Watchstation duties. Conduct training in compliance with: Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS) Technical manuals and shipboard operating procedures. Support Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) initiatives by tailoring training to Fleet and platform needs. Maintain instructional accuracy, safety, and consistency across all training sessions. Curriculum & Training Support Implement and support Navy training materials developed under PMS 339 guidelines. Assist with: Curriculum updates, Training material reviews, Ongoing improvements based on student feedback and Fleet requirements. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and government entities as needed. Ensure that training delivery conforms with approved Training Requirements Documents (TRDs). Location: These positions will be executed at one of the following locations: Norfolk, VA or San Diego, CA. Required Qualifications Required Technical Experience Experience in one or more of the following systems: Ship Control System (SCS), Steering and Thrust Control systems, Navigation and Mechanical Steering Systems, C4I systems, Aegis / SPY / ACNT I or II, Vertical Launching System (VLS), ASW systems, Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes, Embedded Training Systems (ETS), Electronic Cooling Water Systems, 400 Hz electrical systems, EOSS alignment, and execution. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree OR 7+ years of relevant Navy experience (in lieu of a degree). 5+ years of professional curriculum development experience. Experience as a Navy Instructor (formal or operational). Interim Secret clearance or higher. US Citizenship. Desired Qualifications Background in Navy Training Systems. 7+ years of curriculum development experience. Extensive instructional experience within the Navy (schoolhouse or MTT). Strong fits include Sailors who have served as: Steering Control Operator, Helm, Lee Helm, After Steering Watch. Thrust Control Operator or Central Control Station (CCS) watchstander. Engineering or Combat Systems watchstanders supporting ship control. Training experience that translates well: Navy Instructor (schoolhouse or MTT). Training Petty Officer or PQS Coordinator. Department Training Team member. NECs such as 9502 (Instructor) or related instructional qualifications.
