POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring our property remains in top condition to provide guests and associates with the highest quality experience. This position is responsible for maintaining all equipment, keeping the premises pristine, and ensuring guest rooms are kept in excellent repair. A strong focus on completing tasks as outlined in the Green Shield Binder, and following directives from management and the Regional Asset Manager, is essential. MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES Exemplifies a commitment to delivering a superior experience for guests and associates. Works independently to efficiently perform all essential tasks while adhering to company standards. Responds promptly to guest requests, ensuring thorough follow-through in alignment with company policies. Conducts outside cleaning tasks as per the Green Shield Binder, including managing trash, ensuring cleanliness throughout the property, and maintaining safety in walkways. Completes repair tasks listed in work orders in a timely and professional manner. Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and completes repairs as specified in the Green Shield Binder. Follows the daily Green Shield Inspection schedule to ensure all tasks are accomplished efficiently and comply with company standards. Keeps detailed records as outlined in the Green Shield Binder, including inspections and deficiency logs. Utilizes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as a reference while executing all tasks per company standards. Maintains an organized maintenance area and manages tool inventory diligently, ensuring all tools remain in good working order. Ensures cleanliness in boiler, electric, HVAC, and fire sprinkler rooms according to company and local regulations. Monitors fire safety equipment to ensure operational status and compliance with safety standards. Adheres to all company safety and security policies, including those related to OSHA and ADA. Where applicable, manages pool and spa maintenance in compliance with company policies and local laws. Assists in responding to emergencies at the property when requested by management. Coordinates with outside vendors as directed by management. OTHER DUTIES Assists with the cleaning of various hotel areas as required, including front desk and common spaces. Maintains overall cleanliness and orderliness across the hotel. Performs additional tasks as assigned by the management team. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES Proficient in English to interact effectively with guests, associates, and vendors. Ability to comprehend safety rules, maintenance instructions, and company policies. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Utilizes appropriate units of measurement for weight, volume, and distance. Applies sound judgment consistently. Skills in addressing and resolving guest issues according to company policies. ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Regularly required to remain stationary and be mobile throughout the hotel while handling objects and tools. Capable of accessing low areas, working at heights, and maintaining balance. Occasionally manages objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently works in varied weather conditions and potentially experiences wet or humid environments. Occasionally exposed to mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards. Typically works in moderate to loud noise levels. May require travel to assist at other locations within a reasonable distance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
