POSITION SUMMARY The Outpatient (OP) PT Supervisor is responsible for the physical therapy service, clinical staff, and therapy equipment in their assigned area. The supervisor assists in developing and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive rehabilitation programs for patients. The supervisor ensures appropriate billing and documentation by therapists for medically prescribed physical therapy treatments and equipment for patients. The supervisor collaborates with interdisciplinary supervisors for cross-discipline initiatives and operational efficiency. Rate of pay: $42.17 - $61.56 per hour based on experience Posting closing date: March 2, 2026 POSITION REQUIREMENTS Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Current Colorado physical therapy license, or PT license from another state and application for reciprocity to Colorado. BLS for the Healthcare Provider. Education: Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience preferred. Clinical experience with traumatic spinal cord and brain injury required. Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal/customer service skills. Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. Advanced leadership, team building, conflict resolution, and communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Work collaboratively with other departments and physicians. Possess strong interpersonal skills; Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, problem-solve and adapt to a fast-changing environment with competence. Possess a dedication to teamwork and commitment to excellence. Demonstrate strong attention to detail. Ability to teach subject matter to others through explanation, demonstration and supervised practice, or make recommendations on the basis of technical disciplines. Ability to work competently and effectively under stress. Ability to meet frequent deadlines within short timeframes. Ability to input, access, manipulate and analyze data and sufficient overall understanding and knowledge of computer hardware and software. Possess a talent for mastering rehabilitation equipment/advanced rehab technology and providing this education to patients and staff. Possess the ability to apply a strong clinical foundation of neurologic recovery as well as integrate appropriate educational concepts for persons with neurologic disabilities. Highly motivated with a positive attitude. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Orient, train, and provide direction and supervision to clinical personnel. Demonstrate professional judgment, use problem-solving techniques, and delegate appropriately. Collaborate with PT leadership and interdisciplinary leadership teams as appropriate to assess and allocate staff resources on a daily basis based on patient needs. Supervise and mentor staff in the evaluation of neuro-muscular-skeletal systems of patients and creation of customized treatment plans. Evaluate and counsel all employees on their performance in a professional and timely manner. Plan and develop educational in-services for their assigned area as appropriate. Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monitor concurrently. Monitor and analyze costs associated with supplies, staffing, etc. Make changes to staffing levels based upon patient census and acuity. Analyze employee workload and adjust as necessary. Develop and manage proficiency of annual staff competency expectations. Actively work to maintain staff competency. Monitor all therapy equipment. Assist with planning new equipment acquisition, monitor repairs, maintenance and equipment certification. Provide education/precepts to new staff, interns, and students. Attend/conduct staff meetings, patient rounds, hospital committee meetings as indicated. Perform the essential job duties and responsibilities of the staff physical therapists as it relate to direct patient care, including treatment of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, adapting the treatment plan as needed. Communicate with the PT Director as well as interdisciplinary leadership teams when appropriate regarding the needs of PT. Perform requests as outlined by the Director of Physical Therapy. Follow hospital infection control policies, including body substance isolation and proper hand hygiene before and after contact with patients, handling of food, and after hands are contaminated with any body fluids, secretions or excretions. Understand their responsibility to inform patients, family, and visitors of the importance of hand hygiene in all environments.
