Job Summary: The Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Administrator / IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining Microsoft-based infrastructure and systems used to manage IT assets and virtual desktop environments. The role includes deploying and optimizing AVD environments, managing IT asset lifecycle processes, ensuring system performance and security compliance, and providing advanced technical support. This position collaborates with support teams, help desks, and technical staff to resolve issues, improve operational efficiency, and implement best practices for infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Deploy and configure Azure Virtual Desktop host pools, session hosts, and scaling plans Manage FSLogix profiles and optimize desktop image deployment Monitor system and AVD performance; troubleshoot infrastructure and user issues Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for AVD incidents and document resolutions Automate administrative and deployment tasks using PowerShell and Infrastructure-as-Code tools Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards Configure and support Microsoft-based infrastructure and enterprise applications Install, configure, design, and troubleshoot enterprise software and system components Manage IT asset systems including inventory, licensing, patching, deployment, and reporting Develop and maintain processes for tracking, updating, QA, and reporting IT asset records Analyze data and generate reports on update compliance, hardware/software utilization, and system performance Coordinate workstation maintenance activities and identify recurring issues with recommendations for improvement Monitor system files and manage system data to maintain performance efficiency Study system requirements and determine installation methods and procedures Develop guidelines, standards, and best practices while maintaining and improving technical skills Ensure software availability and accessibility for support teams and customers Required Skills: 3+ years of experience administering Azure Virtual Desktop environments Strong knowledge of Azure networking, identity management, and security concepts Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation Experience with FSLogix, image management, and performance tuning Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Experience supporting Microsoft infrastructure and enterprise environments Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate with technical teams and provide advanced user support Preferred Skills: Microsoft Intune experience for device compliance, application deployment, and policy management Knowledge of hybrid environments integrating AVD with Intune for endpoint management Certifications: Microsoft AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) preferred Microsoft AZ-140 (Configuring and Operating Azure Virtual Desktop) preferred
