Job Description Join Oracle's AI Innovation team as a Lead Applied Scientist and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI infrastructure. In this role, you will apply your comprehensive understanding of machine learning techniques, focusing on foundation model evaluation, traditional NLP/CV metrics, human assessments, confidence estimation, and evaluations of agentive and RAG applications. As a trailblazer in research, you will be responsible for developing production-ready technology that integrates seamlessly into our products. Your responsibilities will include: Research and Development: Conduct extensive research on foundation model evaluation and develop production-ready code to ensure the smooth transition of proof-of-concept applications to engineering teams. Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with various teams to embed evaluation capabilities across our diverse product portfolio. Innovation: Identify and suggest new evaluation opportunities, while exploring breakthrough technologies. Industry Awareness: Keep up to date with the latest trends and advances in evaluation technologies. Qualifications and Experience: PhD in a relevant field focused on machine learning, or equivalent experience with additional years of relevant work. A strong publication record, preferably as a lead author or reviewer in esteemed journals. Extensive knowledge in generative AI, model evaluation, and performance metrics. A profound understanding of machine learning algorithms and architectures. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities. Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this role is $139,400 to $291,800 per year, with potential eligibility for bonuses and equity.
