Job Description Summary The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating logistical operations, optimizing transportation routes, scheduling pickups and deliveries and consulting with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of customer orders. Duties and Responsibilities Operates a variety of material handling equipment. Load and unload material from trucks and/or vans using a lift truck, manual jack, or dolly. Operate trailer restraints, dock plates, overhead doors, banding, and wrapping equipment. Assist in inventory counts and physical inventory if needed. Create outbound shipping documentation for both domestic and international shipments. Monitor departmental inboxes, review, distribute information and requests. Research and coordinate completion of Trade Compliance requests. Review and interpret vendor routing guides and update associated customer accounts accordingly. Tracking shipments from multiple points of origin to final destinations Maintaining and building rapport through constant correspondence with customers, vendors, carriers, and other offices through telephone/e-mail. Providing customers with the best transportation solutions by quoting rates and scheduling shipments for delivery Receiving and updating shipment information including pre-alerts and issuing documents. Troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting problems and services issues and maintaining operational systems. Providing support to fellow associates, supervisors, and department managers, as necessary. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods. Monitor and analyze logistic performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Keep track of "HOT" loads to ensure urgency of trucker and update internal system. Research any Over, Short and Damage (OS&D) reported by both internal and external customers. Work with external customers, 3PL, 4PL or 5PL Transportation Management System (TMS) systems. Continuously optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, external vendors, and customers regarding logistics-related inquiries and updates. Ensure correct labeling, packaging, and inventory. Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures. Follow all department and corporate policies and procedures. Must be able to Bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Job Knowledge; Skills and Abilities Basic verbal and written communication skills Basic mathematical skills Ability to interpret work instructions. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience working in logistics coordination or a similar role. Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and industry standards Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as TMS (Transportation Management System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System) Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a dynamic environment. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers. Education and Training High School Diploma / GED A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics field preferred. Tools and Equipment Forklift equipment, hand pallet jack, packing machine, computer and related equipment, calculator. Steel toe shoes are always required in all areas of production/warehouse. Safety glasses are required in specified areas. Ear protection required in specified areas.
