Part-Time Armed Security Officer

POSITION SUMMARY: This part-time armed security role is vital to maintaining safety and security at a high-profile site. Under the supervision of the site Manager, you will monitor activities and incidents to protect client property, visitors, and personnel. As an armed officer, you will be trained to respond to emergencies with appropriate escalation of force, ensuring compliance with established protocols. You will help enforce site regulations and control access to the facility, ensuring a secure environment for all. This position may involve patrolling the premises on foot or in a vehicle, identifying unsafe conditions, and documenting any incidents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform security-related duties as directed, adapting to business needs. Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while reporting unsafe conditions. Act professionally, ensuring a courteous experience for all clients and visitors. Duties Include: Control access to the facility, assisting authorized visitors while preventing unauthorized entry. Respond to emergencies with appropriate methods, including armed response when necessary, while maintaining proficiency with required equipment and protocols. Create a welcoming environment by providing respectful and helpful interactions. Communicate effectively, sharing information regarding the site as permitted. Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access and ensure safety. Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle, checking for safety hazards and security issues. Manage crime scenes and preserve evidence in the event of incidents. Document incidents and prepare reports as needed. Notify relevant authorities about suspicious activities or incidents. Handle emergencies, such as fires or medical situations, following established site protocols. Complete any additional tasks as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: U.S. citizenship preferred Must be at least 21 years old. Education | Experience: High school diploma or GED required. At least two years of armed security or law enforcement experience or two years of honorable military service. Preferred candidates may possess additional certifications, such as CPR, First Aid, or relevant security permits. Background Prerequisites: Must meet background standards, including checks and testing, and comply with any mandatory licensing requirements. Competencies: Compliance with local licensing and qualifications for armed security personnel. Certification in Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure in challenging situations. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer functions. WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to perform essential functions effectively under stress, frequently interacting with authorities and the public. Physical demands may include prolonged standing, walking, and emergency response duties. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
