Prescription Packaging Technician

Position Overview: As a Prescription Packaging Technician, you will play a crucial role in the medication dispensing process by ensuring prescriptions are filled accurately and efficiently. If you have recently completed an externship in a pharmacy or hold a valid Pharmacy Technician license in California, we encourage you to apply! Key Responsibilities: Follow daily packaging assignments with attention to detail. Complete specialized packaging tasks as necessary. Maintain a clean workstation and ensure all supplies are replenished. Sanitize equipment between packaging processes to uphold safety standards. Carefully double-check medication accuracy prior to the packaging process. Record quantities and expiration dates of medications responsibly. Coordinate with pharmacists for checks on completed tasks. Organize completed stock and appropriately return unused medications. Adhere to all relevant government regulations, including HIPAA. Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary by work location. Physical Demands: This role may require periods of sitting or standing for extended hours, with intermittent lifting of up to 25 pounds. Candidates should have good visual acuity and the ability to hear normal voice sounds. Qualifications: Minimum Required: Active California Pharmacy Technician license (no trainee licenses), and basic math skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Specific vision abilities including close and color vision, and focus adjustment. Strong communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is advantageous but not mandatory. Work Schedule: 2nd shift from 1pm to 9:30pm and AM shift from 10am to 6:30pm. Flexibility for extended hours may be required. Work Environment: You will work in a climate-controlled, smoke-free internal environment.
