As a General Manager at SONIC Drive-In, you’ll lead your team on a thrilling journey to deliver a delightful food service experience to our customers. In this role, you will: Manage, train, and support Crew/Team members, Carhops, and Skating Carhops. Directly assign tasks to ensure every element of food service meets our high operational standards. Ensure employee adherence to the SONIC employee handbook, policies, and practices. Perform critical restaurant opening and closing duties. Prepare work schedules for employees while adjusting as necessary to maintain optimal staffing. Oversee restaurant inventory levels, placing orders for food and supplies in accordance with cost control procedures. Maintain all employment and payroll records diligently. Promote a mindset focused on excellent customer service and ensure all team members prioritize customer satisfaction. Address guest requests promptly and respectfully, escalating complaints to your supervisor as needed. Recruit and hire restaurant crew and management team members to ensure proper staffing levels. Generate operational reports and devise action plans to address any financial or sales issues. Develop and implement an engaging marketing plan. Requirements: To thrive as a General Manager, you should have: A high school diploma or equivalent; advanced studies in business or restaurant management are a plus. At least two years of restaurant management experience, preferably in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR). Availability to work at least 5 days a week, including 4 closing shifts or a guaranteed 4-day workweek, encompassing irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices. Understanding of federal and state labor laws, as well as local health and sanitation regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic knowledge of accounting and computer systems. The ability to work independently after receiving guidance, manage multiple tasks, and solve problems effectively. Skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
