Billing Coordinator Cooley is looking for a skilled Billing Coordinator to join our dynamic Accounting team. Position Summary: As a Billing Coordinator, you will manage all billing processes for assigned attorneys, ensuring efficient distribution, documentation, preparation, processing, and delivery of client invoices. Your attention to detail and firm grasp of billing operations will be crucial for success in this role. Position Responsibilities: Oversee collections by contacting clients for payment on outstanding invoices and keeping the manager and billing attorneys informed about potential collection issues. Provide timely and accurate support to attorneys, clients, and staff to resolve any billing inquiries. Investigate and handle inquiries related to current and past billings. Collaborate with the eBilling team to submit invoices electronically and address matters related to eBilling setup, timekeeper adjustments, and any rejections. Monitor short payments and, when necessary, process write-off requests. Reconcile unallocated payments efficiently. Review and summarize engagement letters regarding special financial agreements. Stay informed about special financial arrangements within the accounting system. Understand specific fee and cost structures. Offer guidance and training to new billing attorneys as needed. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Skills and Experience: Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, and firm-specific applications after orientation at Cooley LLP. Strong Excel skills are essential. Willing to work overtime as necessary. 1+ years of relevant experience related to billing, accounting, billing rates, and client maintenance procedures. General understanding of accounting concepts. Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Experience working in a law firm setting. Familiarity with 3E billing software and electronic billing processes. Ability to use 10-key by touch. Competencies: Quick learner with a proactive approach. Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, initiative, and mathematical skills. Able to maintain and enhance attorney and client relationships effectively. Professional demeanor with strong communication (verbal and listening) and writing abilities. Capable of working independently under time constraints. Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with co-workers and vendors. The expected hourly pay range for this position, with a standard 40 hours per week schedule, is $36.00 - $50.00 ($74,880.00 - $104,000.00 annually). Final offer amounts will reflect geographic location, relevant experience, and skills.
