Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and expert care in a busy Emergency Department setting. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver direct patient care by applying the nursing process and demonstrating clinical competence aligned with professional nursing standards. Key Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment. Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections following policy guidelines. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education to support positive health outcomes. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team. Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to support clinical decisions and compliance with quality standards. Collaborate and communicate with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes, while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to enhance their healthcare experience. Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills and knowledge. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Experience At least one year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Licenses and Certifications Current RN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure. Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Physical and Mental Requirements This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching. Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is expected, along with occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
