This position involves providing essential respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for both inpatients and outpatients across all age groups, from neonates to the elderly. You will coordinate respiratory care, develop and implement treatment programs, set up various respiratory therapy equipment, and educate patients on safe usage while ensuring compliance with departmental policies. We offer a $7500 sign-on bonus! To excel in this role, you must meet the essential duties accounted for below. Education Requirements Required: Associate's degree from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Allied Health or a related field Work Experience Required: None Preferred: Prior experience with Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) and other respiratory home medical equipment Certifications Required: Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care BLS - Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Proficient computer skills for data entry and access to patient information, familiar with Windows applications Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and professionally Knowledge of respiratory equipment Ability to travel to patient homes for equipment setup and monitoring Willingness to be on-call for patient needs Key Responsibilities Set up respiratory and PAP therapy equipment in a post-acute care environment Document all relevant patient information thoroughly Educate patients and coworkers on treatments and procedures Engage in process improvement initiatives and address patient issues Communicate effectively with physicians and serve as a resource on respiratory therapy Monitor patient compliance with therapy and provide recommendations as necessary Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy and tailored communication styles Perform other related duties as required The description provided outlines primary responsibilities and may not encompass all duties.
