Application Instructions Complete Application Attach resume and cover letter Position Description Area Manager IGE is a rapidly growing construction organization that focuses on excavation along with sewer and water utility installation. Successful candidates will have opportunities to grow professionally within the many divisions of the company. Position Overview: The position of Area Manager is integral to the flow of the Operations department. They will oversee critical aspects of projects and serve as a contact between the varying levels of a project including owners, vendors, and management. Direct Report: Vice President of Operations On-Job Responsibilities Monitor schedule progress for area covered Mentor and train Project Managers and Project Engineers Mediate between Landowners, Engineers, and Project Managers Ensure projects in area are working within budget Review bids for area and confirm submittal Identify constraints or variations, work to resolve issues Supervisory Functions Supervise and direct Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Interns Employee evaluation and monitoring of employee's success, consulting skills Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Conflict resolution, as needed Safety Responsible for overall safety on each project, in conjunction with Safety Manager Enforces all Safety Regulations on the project Assure safety devices are available Coordinates with the Safety Manager for ongoing Project Safety Inspections Piece of the IGE Puzzle The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing projects and ensuring completion. Occasional evening and weekend work, seasonal spikes in hours may be required as essential functions demand. Work Environment The job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This job will also require travel to job sites where use of PPE will be required. Position Requirements Qualifications:Strong commitment to company values and goals Leadership and mentoring skills essential Self-directed and motivated Proven experience with budgetary constraints Civil construction experience Knowledge of MS Office, Primavera Prior working knowledge of DOT/BOA regulations Travel: Travel to area job sites as needed. Typically, 3-4 overnights a month during peak season would be expected. This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 on the IGE Pay Scale.
