Lead Cost Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Cost Engineer to oversee complex projects, delivering exceptional cost engineering leadership. This position requires a strong commitment to fieldwork and offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute directly to a project site. In this role, you will: Manage and control project costs, ensuring they align with approved budgets and contractual obligations. Establish and monitor the project cost baseline, tracking expenditures and providing comprehensive reports to management. Evaluate the financial impact of change orders, schedule adjustments, and scope changes, advising project managers on cost risks and mitigation strategies. Ensure accurate capture and reporting of reimbursable costs as per contract requirements. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, fostering their growth within the team. Occasionally supervise junior engineers and assist with their professional development. The role is stationed at our office in El Paso, TX, but you will primarily work on-site at a project in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. To qualify, you should have: A Bachelor's degree. At least 5 years of relevant experience in cost engineering. Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with project controls software such as Primavera P6, EcoSys, Unifier, or Procore. Extensive knowledge of cost control, forecasting, and change order evaluation. Experience managing cost-plus and GMP contracts.
