Pay Range $40-42 Per Hour Job Description: About the Role Role Overview We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support Axle Carrier Machining operations, with a strong focus on continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. This role will lead machining process improvements, structured problem-solving, and lean manufacturing initiatives while ensuring compliance with corporate, environmental, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Process Engineering Support manufacturing process engineering activities for machining operations Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish, control, and continuously improve machining processes Deliver capable processes, tools, and equipment supporting Carrier Machining operations Lead resolution of machining-related concerns, including variability reduction initiatives Quality & Problem Solving Lead interim and permanent corrective actions using 8D methodology, 5-Why, and structured problem-solving tools Analyze carrier inventory and reject data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions Create and maintain process sheets, work instructions, and quality documentation Support PPAP, FMEA, DOEs, and process validation activities Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and throughput Identify throughput constraints and lead root cause improvements to achieve Rate of Climb (ROC) targets Lead and support Lean initiatives including: 5S Kanban Poka-Yoke Value Stream Mapping Kaizen and TQM methods Support Visual Factory Management best practices Audits, Compliance & Ergonomics Lead and conduct process audits to ensure compliance with Powertrain Operations guidelines Ensure compliance with Plant, Corporate, Governmental, Environmental, and ISO 14001 standards Support internal ISO audits and ongoing ISO 14001 compliance Conduct job ergonomic evaluations and implement corrective actions Leadership & Collaboration Demonstrate strong leadership behaviors Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams Lead technical problem-solving efforts with strong interpersonal and communication skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience 5+ years of related experience in Manufacturing, Process, or Industrial Engineering Hands-on experience with CMM gaging and/or CNC machining environments Strong problem-solving skills using 8D and structured methodologies Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices Preferred Qualifications Lean Six Sigma experience PPAP, FMEA, DOE, and process validation experience Machining and tooling knowledge DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) project experience Visual Factory Management experience Ergonomic analysis knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills #LI-EM1 #INDOEM
